Do you like your Yamaha RBX374? I remember a while ago you said you had one and I'm thinking of getting one, I wanted to get your views on yours if it's not too much trouble :)

Man, I will always have time to write about the RBX374. It’s amazing.

When I first bought it, I bought it in the mindset of ‘I need a bass that screams LOOK AT ME, I’M FUCKING METAL’. At that stage in my life, I wouldn’t have cared what it sounded like, as long as it looked the part, I was happy. I know, it was stupid. But the Yamaha really caught my eye because not only did it look like it’d kick your ass, it had certain specs that really really made me curious. I asked the guy who was helping me out in the shop if I could play it, for no reason other than it looked like a cool guitar. The second I played it, I knew I had to get it. There was something about the dual humbucker set up and the maple neck that I just loved. Most of all, this bass was about trying new things that I hadn’t experienced with my first bass. My first was a single coil passive setup with a huge chunky neck and, as much as I adored it, it was definitely time to try something new. Enter the active dual humbucker Yamaha. The bridge is beautiful and the hardware has shown no sign of rust so far so happy days there. The paint doesn’t chip easily but mine is showing some signs of cosmetic damage simply because of me.

In terms of negatives, there are only a few and they’re tiny in comparison to the positives. My only problems have been that this bass eats batteries. I just wanna let you know before you buy, YOU WILL NEED EXTRA BATTERIES IF YOU INTEND TO PLAY SHOWS/TOUR/HELLA LONG PRACTISES. My other issue is that the rosewood fretboard can build up a lot of gunk off of finger sweat alone but this can all be fixed by cleaning regularly.

To put it simply, if you buy this bass, you will not need a backup guitar. I have three atm and basically only use my Yamaha because it’s so trustworthy. It’s the only bass that I can take out of it’s bag, just plug it in and play. It hold tune beautifully and, if you choose to get the black coloured one and polish it before a show, it really catches stage lights and looks fantastic. I can’t recommend it enough but be sure to read some other reviews as people may have stumbled on some problems that I haven’t found.

Enjoy and hope this helped! :)
